West Virginia Alpha
The first fraternity on West Virginia University’s campus.
Phi Kappa Psi national fraternity was created in 1852. Thirty-eight years later, when West Virginia University submitted its petition, 51 chapters had already been granted.
West Virginia Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi was founded May 23, 1890 as the first fraternity on West Virginia University’s campus. Currently there are 1500+ living alumni members.
The whole sum of Phi Psi tradition may be gathered together under the word Gentleman. It cannot be defined. It cannot be mistaken. A worthy member of Phi Kappa Psi is, and always must be, under all circumstances, in sickness or in health, in prosperity or adversity, in the bosom of the chapter or in the pitiless gaze of a cold world, a gentleman.
Let us pray. Our heavenly Father, bless this food to its intended use and us to thy faithful service, in Christ’s name we ask this. Amen.
